Doctor Murphy graduated from M.I.T. with a Bachelor of Science degree in Life Sciences (Phi Beta Kappa). She received her medical degree (M.D.) from Harvard Medical School. After medical school, she attended a one-year residency in internal medicine at a Yale University hospital. Her three-year residency in ophthalmology was performed at the University of California at San Francisco Medical Center, which is one of the world’s foremost eye institutes.
Doctor Murphy is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. She is also a member of the Pima County Medical Society and Tucson Society of Women Physicians.
In her spare time, she and her husband enjoy sightseeing and hiking in our national parks.
Doctor Murphy is fluent in Italian, and also speaks French and Spanish.
